Sarah Rowledge – Inspiring Adult Minds

Do you find yourself going to bed exhausted? Feeling guilty that you raised your voice? Berating yourself that you could have handled situations in a different way?

No-one is handed an instruction manual when they leave the hospital with a new born child. You are not told about the changes that your child is going to go through over the course of their childhood, what this is going to look like and how we as parents can support them. My aim is to bring about a greater understanding of the ever changing nature of your child and to give you an abundance of ideas, games and strategies for a wide variety of topics; whether that be to tackle challenging behaviour in an alternative way; supporting your child’s journey into early literacy or transitioning from home to nursery or nursery to Primary school.
I have worked with children and their parents over the last 25 years. It is through these experiences and shared times that I have accumulated a wealth of information and strategies that has catalysed the creation of the events and courses you will find on this website. I feel very honoured to be in this situation and thank all those families that I have been in contact with over time, that has lead to this point.

About Me

My drive and inspiration is to broaden my support of parents in today’s world as they navigate the challenges encountered over the course of their child’s younger years. I come from a Montessori background, in terms of my businesses. Throughout the last 25 years I have always been drawn to bringing about a greater depth of understanding to all adults about ‘childhood’ and how we can aid a child’s development.

I love my time in my own settings and have also relished taking my knowledge and experience beyond their walls.

In April 1999 I opened Absolute Angels Montessori Nursery, with a grand total of three children! There are definitely many more than that now! This expanded to Soaring High Montessori Primary School being opened in September 2008 and educating 4 – 11yr olds until it was sadly forced to close in 2021. Having had my own nursery and school over all these years I have been able to support children and their parents across many aspects of family and educational life.

In 2005 I was the Project Manager for implementing the Montessori approach to education in the first state school in the UK, Gorton Mount Primary School; trained the staff in the second state school in Stebbing, Essex; and was the MSA trainer for Effective Language Use across the UK. There are now many parents and practitioners working in partnership together in their settings that have adopted the strategies demonstrated, with positive feedback, and welcomed changes in childrens’ behaviour.

For four years from 2005 I was an MSA Chairperson, from 2006 I was a Trainer for MCI, and from its conception in 2010 I became a Board member for MEAB UK and also took on the role of MSA Chair for the Primary Schools in the UK. I wrote an Empowered Parenting course for nursery Heads to deliver in their own settings, and have worked alongside many nurseries and their parent body supporting across all areas of learning and development.

In 2017 I was awarded a LifeTime Achievement Award at the annual Montessori Conference. More recently in 2021 I took up a Senior lectureship role at Anglia Ruskin University and am thoroughly enjoying a new challenge.

I would love to hear from you and would be happy to answer any questions
